It looks as though it worked!
Sunday 31 July 2005
Well, it may have worked! Where this will end up on the WWW I'm not sure!
It's been quite a busy day- went to visit mum at the Rest Home as usual for a Sunday. We unpicked her knitting that she had done (just a lot of rows of garter stitch that can't be used for anything..) and I gave her another ball of wool, so she has 4 balls of Pipkin wool, and I also wrote out a pattern for a child's scarf and 1 for a child's backpak for her. I don't think she'll remember what the wool is for though. I also gave her an Avon catalogue to look through. Now that she doesn't like to go out for drives, I need to make sure that I have things to take and show her when I go and visit. She loves having visitors, and we have a good time each week when I go and see her.
Then I went and bought some pies and took them to Kathryn's (my eldest daughter) place for lunch. Her brotherinlaw Keepa was there, and of course my granddaughters Anahera and Kaya. Hard to believe Anahera will be 8 next week. She was talking about plans for her birthday and of course Kaya wanted to have HER birthday then too! Kaya will be 5 in November.
After that I went to the Aero Club and returned a book I forgotten to take back - last year!! Josef was there, so I got him to run through all the startup checks, and the engine run ups, DVAs etc. Then I got him to draw the circuit pattern on the board and we went through circuits. It's 6 months since my last lesson and I was in danger of forgetting, so I needed to refresh it. It'll still be a loong time till I can fly- no money yet! I miss it! It was good to talk about flying again.
Then it was home- Andrew (my youngest at 19 and the only one of the 4 still at home) and his mate were watching The Incredibles, so I started my new knitting project- a baby jacket for Tim and Sarah's baby in Pipkin wool(eldest son and wife, baby due in October). Being a real new knitter- 1 month ago, and just scarves to my credit so far - I've never actually knitted any item of clothing before, so I don't know how successful this will be!
Ok, enough for a post, will try and post again soon!
