Yana

Here are two more photos of Yana, taken just a couple of days ago.

On the flying front- I've decided not to fly again for a while- I simply just can't afford it- I have family that needs help as well as the usual bills and there is just not enough left over for flying. At least this time I've ended on a positive note, the lessons I had went well, so I know that I have the basic ability and I'm happy with that. And who knows. sometime in the future I may be able to pick it up again.

Middle of the week

Trying to book tickets to Christchurch to see my middle son Phil but although there are cheaper flights, the times may not suit, and the weekend I can travel might not suit Phil and Magenta. Sigh.... Ah well. Maybe they can come up and visit instead.

Busy at work, does that ever change?? On call tonight but so far it's been quiet.

Spend most of the weekend staying at Waitarere Beach, a beach settlement about 45 minutes from here. Tim and Sarah and baby Yana were there, it was lovely to spend the time with them.

A Reading Weekend

I've spent most of the weekend reading this book, which I spotted in the library on Friday. It's a great book, has a synopsis and a few photos of EVERY country in the world. I want to travel, now! There are a few countries that I wouldn't like to go to- such as those in a state of war or unrest- and a few that wouldn't be safe for a woman travelling alone. But there are a lot that look very nice.

However, I can't see me going overseas any time soon. Got to pay off my credit card first! I was doing pretty well- but then Andrew has a job interview tomorrow, so I had to buy him a shirt, ties, shoes, and a tidy pair of trousers. We didn't do too bad, that all only cost $80NZ. So not too much extra on the plastic. Then I want to fly some more etc!

Winning Lotto would be good! Nah, not really- I think on the whole I'm pretty satisfied with what I have- the main priority is to clear the credit card and keep out of debt and save a little bit- with the odd flight of course lol! There's a lot I WANT, but not much I NEED. Bit of a difference. The key is to be satisfied with what you have.

Another week

Another week has gone by!

I just had a visit from a Police Officer, he was taking a victim impact report in preparation for the court case of the lady who hit us when we had the car accident in November. It was questions on whether I had physically recovered, and whether I'd suffered financially or emotionally. She is only being charged with careless driving, as she didn't INTEND to cause us harm, so she will probably only be fined and get demerit points. The police officer said we were lucky to be alive, it could have been so much worse.

Had another flying lesson at the weekend, it was such a lovely day- more revision again - more stalling and practising climbing and descending. However I won't have any spare money for a while for more lessons so I will just have to be patient. I'm at the point now though where I am satisfied to know that I do have the basic flying skills and the instructors seem to think I'm not a lost cause lol!

The weather broke today, it's rained the whole day (a lot) and is likely to rain tomorrow again. Good for our water supply. The council has been using bore water but should now be able to switch back to our usual river water.
